iR2018 - ScanGear

I am evaluating PaperScan with Canon iR2018 and Color Network ScanGear V2.71 on WIN10/64-home. Everything works good except of Acquire - Start Wizard... - if I select this command, the program crashes as it tries to open ScanGear. I would like to use this option, because ScanGear enables to scan smaller area (iR2018 is A3 and usuallu I scan only A4 and the operation is then quite time expending and the image nust be cropped). In MS Office Document Scanning this option works OK.
