I completely uninstalled Paperscan 1.6 free, but when I try to install the newest version 1.7 I get a message that PaperScan Free is already installed, uninstall first.
I am using Windows 7 home premium 64.
I have installed lots of software, but this beats them all. I removed all traces of it even from the registry and the installer insists that the old version is still installed. Any ideas what I am missing?
Thank you
Mark
problem upgrading to new version
Re: problem upgrading to new version
Hello Mark
Very sorry for the delay.
PaperScan 1.6 and 1.7 are using InstallShield as a lot of software editors.
Normally uninstallation performed by InstallShield leaves a quite clean computer.
Could you, please, confirm that you have uninstalled PaperScan by the mean of "add and remove programs"?
You also have indicated that you have removed "all traces of it even from the registry".
Could you, please, detail what exactly you have removed?.
Also, do you still see PaperScan in the list of your installed programs?.
Thank you very much,
Should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.
