Scanner is not working

Good day.
I've problem scanning with my Brother DCP585CW scanner.
I can print whatever I want.- meaning that there is a connection between my all-in-one and my laptop.
Yesterday I've installed your software but I do not manage to make a scan.
Options - acquisition standard - WIA
Then I go to File - Acquire image - Quick scan - I get a mirror stating: Collecting Information - Percentage ....
After half a minute I get a WIA Error: 16389.
For your info I've re-installed my brother with the latest software provided by Brother. I also downloaded the software especially
For Scanners ia. ControlCenter3.
I still get the samen WIA error.
Can you pls help me because I would like to scan negative picture for my father in law. His 91 years.
